Safe Mobile Deposit
In 2018 the Safe Mobile Deposit gateway was granted a patent. SMD is that gateway, and it is the method Safemonie uses to accept a cash voucher and credit a bank account or a wallet from an ordinary handset.
The patent protects a deposit completed on the mobile network. A person dials a code carrying the voucher number and the destination account. The gateway checks that the voucher is genuine and unused, confirms the account, and posts the credit. The same gateway supports cash withdrawal through an agent, who confirms a code before paying out.
Every Safemonie redemption still passes through this gateway. USSD, the dial code on this website, and a voucher loaded into a Safemonie wallet share one set of results, so a voucher can succeed once.
